Birth photography is my favorite part of my work. It is such an honor to be present as a woman brings a new life into the world, and it is incredibly fulfilling to know that I am capturing those moments for her, her children, and grandchildren. How amazing is it that that child will one day get to see the joy on her mother’s face the moment she was born? And how wonderful that a mother and her family can look back at those transformative events over and over and relive the journey, this time seeing things she may have missed: a partner’s supportive touch, a sibling’s amazement, the love in mama’s eyes as she sees her babe for the first time.
Birth photography is about story-telling and celebrating the creation of, or addition to, a family. Birth is a journey, and whatever shape that journey takes, it is worth preserving. Beautifully. I can do that for you.

The Birth of Nina Mae.
Kelly and Lance planned a beautiful home birth in the Seattle area for their fourth baby, Nina Mae. What no one knew until she was on her way out was that she was breech. Midwife Andrea, of Northshore Midwives and Lactation Consulting, handled the surprise breech birth beautifully, and soon Nina was in her shocked mama’s arms, surrounded by the love of lots of family.
The Birth of Violet.
Violet was born in a Seattle area hospital, with her father and aunt in the room as she entered the world. Her big brother and sister joined us shortly after the birth to meet their new baby sister.
The Birth of Ivy.
Ivy was born at home, in the water, into her Daddy’s hands, and completely en caul, as her two siblings, and grandparents, and family friend watched. This birth was attended by Andrea of Northshore Midwives and Lactation Consulting.
The Birth of Summer.
Summer was born at Eastside Birth Center on a hot August night in the greater Seattle area. This is an example of a fusion slideshow, with snips of video to help tell the story of Summer’s beautiful birth.
The Birth of Felix.
Felix was born naturally in the hospital, the fifth baby in his family. Labor took a while to really get going, so Monica and Michael and their doula took lots of walks outside on a beautiful early summer Seattle day.
The Birth of Cailan.
Lucia and Alex planned a home birth for their first baby, but after laboring long and hard through the night with the incredible support of their doula, Megan, their midwives, Melissa and Alyssa of Lake Washington Midwives, made the decision to transfer to the hospital. After some pain relief and hard-core pushing, the Cailan was born healthy and perfect via Cesarean section.
